Barbados is probably the most sophisticated holiday spot in the world with year-round sunshine and fine dining. With so many fine restaurants to choose from: The Cliff, Cin Cin, Tides, not to mention Ju Ju’s or Waterfront Café, The Restaurant at The Sandpiper creatively competes with the best of them, including the sister hotel the Coral Reef Club.
Open on three sides to torch lit tropical gardens and surrounded by tranquil koi ponds The Restaurant at The Sandpiper is where Executive Chef, Christophe Poupardin, and his team offer an eclectic menu with a Caribbean flair. The menu changes five times a week and there is a Caribbean Buffet & Barbecue evening. A fusion of European and Asian techniques using the finest local and imported ingredients create beautifully presented dishes, which continues to earn plaudits from visitors and locals alike.
A bar adjoins the restaurant and offers respite shade by day and at night is the perfect setting for pre and post dinner drinks. For guests who have pre-booked dinner and want to dine out some evenings, there is the option of having lunch instead from a very varied lunch menu.
Harold and his team are ever welcoming remembering past guests as if they had only been there the previous day. But, now the seating area, the tiled deck and the chichi umbrellas & sofas lifted straight from an Amalfi Cliffside eatery somehow just forces you to linger longer in the comfort and shade, gazing out over clear Caribbean waters.
Harold’s Bar is for drinks, lunch but – it’s mainly for you and those you’re with to relax and linger.
